Courtney Clenney – Episode Show Notes

Question: I know we have discussed this topic as a trio, and joke about having an OnlyFans page, but for our listeners tonight, I want you to share your thoughts on social media influencers.

Everything is not what it seems, and for this influencer we are discussing tonight, this is the case.

Before we get into it, I would like to share that I have only found one other podcast who has touched upon this story, so you are getting it raw and in real time tonight on Bizarre Buffet.

Courtney Clenny, 25 years old ,  who goes by Courtney Tailor on instagram has to 2M instagram followers to date. The majority of her pictures consist of her in string bikinis and lingerie. Hey to each their own. I’m just trying to set the scene for all of us so you know what kind of influencer we are working with.

Her last post was on March 30 of this year. She’s wearing a hot pink dress with baby blue air jordans, backside faced towards the camera. The caption states, “My face thinking about a fresh set of talons….what color should I get?” Nail emoji

On April 3 of this year, Miami police department received a phone call from Courtney saying that her boyfriend, Christian Obumseli was stabbed.  Christian was heard in the background saying, “I’m dying” and Courtney yelling, “I’m so sorry”. On August 11 of this past week, Courtney was arrested on murder charge.

SO WHAT HAPPENED !?

Courtney and Chrstian began dating in 2020 with their relationship being described as an “extremely tempestuous and

combative relationship”. According to Courtney’s arrest warrant, there had been multiple incidents of domestic violence from both sides during their two year relationship.

Friends have stated that Courtney was an aggressive partner with a history of alleged violence with other men she has dated and has jokingly referred to herself as “the toxic girlfriend”.

Friends have also seen Courtney push Christian and that Christian would try his hardest to deescalate the situation.

One friend stated, “ I can summarize it as her always having these manic episodes, dragging him into it, and him trying to be like, ‘calm down, calm down”.

Another friend stated, “ His role in their relationship was basically to take it from her and to calm her down”.

Tenants from more than 2 floors away from them have also reported hearing loud noises from their apartment.

Courtney allegedly kicked Christain out of the apartment in late March, and he returned on April 1st. Police were called to the apartment that day and upon arrival, Courtney appeared to be intoxicated.

THE DAY OF

On the day of his death, Christian left the house a little after 1pm and returned around 4:30 with sandwiches for them.

It is believed he died between the time he got home and 4:57 pm which isn’t even a half hour. The crazy part of it all was between that time, Courtney called her mother. Her mom later stated that she could hear them arguing while she was on the phone with her.

AND

10 minutes before the 911 call Courtney made, building management called 911 alerting them of a disturbance in Courtney and Christian’s apartment.

Now unfortunately Christian is no longer alive, and we don’t have his side of the story. According to Courtney’s attorney she acted in self defense. She ran to the kitchen after Christian tried to attack her and grabed a knife. And allegedly she threw it at him from 10 feet away.

Police found no physical evidence of her being harmed.

Medical examiners determined that Christian was stabbed by a three inch deep stab wound to the chest.

In a recorded telephone statement to police documented in the arrest warrant, Clenney’s mother allegedly told authorities that she heard Clenney telling Obumseli to leave and Clenney saying that Obumseli was “lying.” Her mother did not say anything about her daughter being attacked, the warrant said, and while she allegedly told investigators that she had not discussed Obumseli’s death with her daughter, the warrant cited a 5:25 p.m. text message from “mom” on the defendant’s phone that mentioned “self-defense” and told her not to speak with investigators without an attorney.

There is actual video footage on the internet that is going around.

In the video, Clenney, in a white bra top and plaid loungewear pants, pushes, shoves, and jumps on Obumseli, who wears a blue T-shirt and black track pants. He puts his arms out and turns his back to her to press buttons on the elevator panel. At one point, he appears to briefly put her in a headlock, and later pushes her face with his hand.

COURTNEY’S LAWYER SAYS

“The video does not depict the events leading up to what was captured in the elevator. Obumseli was the abuser, the worst kind of abuser. He would manipulate and abuse Courtney in private when he thought nobody was around.”

FROM CHRISTIANS FAMILY

Obumseli’s family lawyer, Larry Handfield, told Rolling Stone in the weeks following the stabbing that he and Obumseli’s family believed Clenney was receiving special treatment as a white woman who had killed a Black man. “We believe it is white privilege, because any other person would’ve been arrested,” he said in April. Handfield claimed to Rolling Stone that the Miami Police had bungled the investigation and had only looked into the case after he reached out directly to the State’s Attorney about it. (The Miami Police did not respond to requests for comment on this issue at the time, and the State’s Attorney’s Office declined to comment on Thursday.) He denies allegations that Obumseli had been abusive towards Clenney and said he’d spoken with witnesses who said Clenney was the abusive partner in their relationship.

WHERE WE ARE AT NOW

On Wednesday, news broke that Clenney was arrested for Obumseli’s murder. At the time, according to her lawyer, Frank Prieto, she was in rehab in Hawaii for PTSD and substance abuse. She remains in jail until authorities extradite her to Florida.
